In June of 2025, just before the 2024-25 school year ended, Mr. Fehr, who instructs the Magnet welding program, applied to the Canadian Welding Bureau (now known as the CWB group) for a grant to upgrade the Magnet welding program's safety equipment, and just recently -- we are very pleased to announce -- was awarded 14 WeldSAFE kits, each kit averaging $1,200 worth of safety equipment, a total value of $16,800.

Included in the kits are welding helmets, beanies, gloves, jackets, spats, and an assortment of PPE, including glasses, earmuffs and respirators. The CWB will also provide a complimentary safety review of our Magnet welding facility for the 2025-26 academic year and additionally support our welding program by providing us with access to the online CWB foundation's education curriculum.
