Every day, Saskatchewan’s public school students demonstrate kindness, leadership, and civic responsibility—and it’s time to celebrate their efforts! The Public Schools of Saskatchewan Student Citizenship Awards recognize student groups and classes that go above and beyond to strengthen their schools and communities.

Why These Awards Matter

In a world that needs more empathy and action, these awards:

  • Highlight the power of student-led initiatives – From anti-bullying campaigns to community food drives, young people are making a difference.

  • Provide meaningful support – Six awards of $1,000 each help fund new or existing projects (three for Gr. 1–8, three for Gr. 9–12).

  • Reinforce public education’s values – Teamwork, inclusivity, and civic engagement are at the heart of these recognitions.

How It Works

  • Who can apply? Student groups or entire classes (not individuals) in Saskatchewan public schools.

  • What qualifies? Projects fostering citizenship or character (e.g., peer mentoring, environmental cleanups, cultural awareness initiatives).

  • Deadline: Applications due April 15 annually, with awards presented in June.

Past Success Stories

“A Grade 5 class in Regina organized a ‘Kindness Crew’ to welcome new students, while a high school group in Saskatoon created a mental health podcast. Both used award funds to expand their impact!”
