2024 Public Schools of Saskatchewan Announces Student Citizenship Award Winners

Public Schools of Saskatchewan proudly recognized six outstanding student groups at today’s fourth annual Student Citizenship Awards ceremony, honouring initiatives that strengthen communities and build character across the province. Each winning team received $1,000 to further their impactful work.


Meet the 2024 Winners

Elementary Division (Grades 1–8)


High School Division



"These projects exemplify how public schools nurture responsible, engaged citizens," said Lois Smandych, Chair of the Awards Committee. "From leadership councils to anti-bullying campaigns, students are shaping a more inclusive Saskatchewan."


A Celebration of Civic Spirit

The ceremony featured:

  • Remarks by Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill and Senator David Arnot (Concentus Citizenship Foundation).

  • Spotlight stories of student-driven initiatives tackling issues like mental health, equity, and community support.
