The Public Schools of Saskatchewan is pleased to recognize and extend our deepest appreciation to Mr. Alan Nunn for his years of service, leadership, and steadfast commitment to strengthening public education across the province. Mr. Nunn has long been regarded as a dedicated advocate for students, a thoughtful collaborator, and a respected voice in the work of publicly governed school divisions.
Throughout his service, Mr. Nunn has demonstrated a deep understanding of the essential role that public education plays in fostering strong communities and supporting the success of all students. His approach to leadership has always been grounded in respect, stability, and a belief that decisions must be guided by what is best for students and the publicly governed system that serves them.
Alan’s contributions extend far beyond formal meetings or committee work. He has consistently championed the values that underpin Saskatchewan’s public schools: accessibility, equity, accountability, and the belief that every child—regardless of background, geography, or circumstance—deserves the opportunity to succeed. His thoughtful perspective and calm, principled leadership have been appreciated not only by his own board but also by colleagues across the province.
As a long-time supporter of strong, locally governed school boards, Mr. Nunn has been instrumental in advancing the Public Section’s mission and ensuring that important issues remain at the forefront of provincial discussions. Whether addressing funding challenges, supporting inclusive and welcoming learning environments, or reinforcing the importance of democratically elected trustees, Alan has brought clarity and purpose to every conversation.
The legacy of Alan’s service is marked by collaboration, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to the families and students of Saskatchewan. His work has had a meaningful and lasting impact on public education—one that will continue to benefit school divisions and communities well into the future.
On behalf of Saskatchewan’s 16 public school boards, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Alan Nunn. We are grateful for his leadership, his dedication, and the contributions he has made to strengthening public education in our province. We wish him every success as he continues to support his community and family in the years ahead.
