Public education is a system funded through taxation, governed by a democratic process open to every member of the community, to provide each and every citizen with a quality education to meet their individual needs and to ensure a cohesive and democratic society. Since before this Province was founded trustees have embraced the concept of Public Education as a means of educating its citizens and building Saskatchewan. Public Education was founded on democratic principles. It is intended that children regardless of their backgrounds and financial circumstances will have the opportunity to receive an education. Members of the Public Section understand that the advantages of an education should extend to every child in the community and that every child is welcome in public schools regardless of faith, financial status, ethnicity, health or any other factor.
